Societal Problems in Education

Malala Yousafzai, the young Pakistani girl who has become a well-know champion of girls' education, began her campaign when she was only ten.  In October 2012, Malala was shot in the face, point blank, by the Taliban while riding the bus on her way home from school because she stood up for what she believed.   She survived the threat on her life and has continued to advocate for education.  She is the youngest-ever winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

Think about the problems that plague education nationally and globally.  Identify a societal problem that impacts education.  Explain how the problem adversely affects education.  Describe possible solutions.  Could you be part of the change related to this problem?  Describe.
